The Marion County Amateur Radio Club (MCARC) was formed by local ham radio operators and enthusiasts in October of 2010 in Jasper, TN.
The purpose of MCARC is for the purpose of repeater operation and for repeater enthusiasts and, in general, to further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, in order to promote radio knowledge, fraternalism and individual operating efficiency, and to conduct variou programs and activities to advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio in the local community.
Membership to MCARC is open to all licensed hams, their spouse and family members, and to others who have an interest in Amateur Radio.
The club obtained the FCC club call-sign KK4JHJ in May of 2012. The call-sign was later re-assigned the vanity call-sign we use today, KD4ATW, to honor a former and founding member Fred G. Carmichael, who became a silent key shortly after the club’s formation in 2010. Fred had held the KD4ATW call-sign since obtaining his “ticket” in the early 1990’s.
MCARC currently operates the the following repeaters:
443.100 (+) PL 88.5 – Callsign: KD4ATW / EchoLink Node# 443100
